What we expect

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering / Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a Data Scientist.
  • Proven practical experience with analysing large, complex data sets to obtain clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of different statistical methods and machine learning algorithms, including most popular model architectures and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with development and practical application of machine learning methods for regression, classification, NLP and machine vision.
  • Proficiency in use of Python and Python IDEs (Anaconda, VS Code, Jupyter or similar) for analytics and data science.
  • Practical experience with using SQL on large, complex, highly dimensional datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools and frameworks, e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn, PowerBI or similar.
  • Familiarity with code version control, CI/CD and collaboration tools, e.g. GitHub, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline, JIRA or similar
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data manipulation techniques.
  • Familiarity with using cloud computing platforms, e.g. AWS, GCP or Azure, for analytics & data science.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Proven project management skills and capable of carrying projects through to completion.

As a Data Scientist, you will leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights from complex manufacturing data and drive process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction initiatives. Your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the data-driven decision-making processes of our company and enhancing the value we provide to our clients.

The position will suit a flexible, self-starter, who is passionate about technology, and has an ability to develop on a variety of projects and maintenance depending on demands. The ideal candidate will be confident working and communicating with stakeholders at all levels, across global locations, in an impactful manner.

Your tasks

  • Drive deep-dive analysis of service data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that impact operational performance and product quality.
  • Lead data-driven decision making process by collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization
  • Drive business strategic decisions by translating large and complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Develop & implement predictive models across a variety of problems, including regression, classification, NLP and machine vision, using a variety of machine learning models e.g. ensemble methods, neural nets and transformers.
  • Deploy models to production using Python and machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar.
  • Manage and monitor models after deployment to ensure their correct function and make changes as required.
  • Take ownership of data science projects from conception to deployment and create new tools to support the business need to drive value from the data.
  • Utilize statistical analysis techniques to analyse process variability, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions.
  • Design experiments and conduct hypothesis testing to validate improvements and optimizations in service repair processes e.g., A/B testing.
  • Domain expertise, leading to proactive identification of use cases and activities to benefit the team and the business.
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Working in an agile manner, constantly seeking the most efficient methods to deliver against business objectives, delivering rapid insights and proof of concepts to teams.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data science and service repair to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of data science capabilities within the organization
  • Follow version control best practices, develop and maintain documentation on projects, methods and code base.
